This probably won't arrive in your inbox in time to use for Hallowe'en, but I think the crone is a delightfully creepy way to hook players into a relatively classic dungeon with a twist.. or should I say a tilt.
If you enjoy short-form adventures like this, there's a compendium of 48 of them up on DTRPG!
As always, thank you to my generous Patrons, whose donations mean that the text and map art for this adventure are free for you to use non-commercially under CC-BY-NC 4.0.
Happy hacking, and close your windows tightly!
Excellent to see you back to new adventures! It looks like the previous one was #50 (The Mouth of Spring) and this one is numbered 52. Is there a missing one in between that I've somehow missed?
ReplyDeleteAh yes, 51 is "Into the Silent Temple" and only appears in the compendium. Sorry for any confusion!
DeleteAha! All good, then. I'm a Kickstarter backer of the comepndium, so I've got access to it. :)
DeleteOh good. :)
DeleteHi Michael, I was looking through the Compendium PDF and I noticed that while the Axewives are mentioned a number if times they do not have an entrt in either the Index or the Bestiary. Could we have an article some time about their origin, organisation and goals? At the moment I have them pegged as something like the Saxon greater fyrd but I have no idea if that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteWild that I missed that, that's a good idea. Until then, this is a profile of one of them:

Yeah. I'd love to learn more. I'm planning to add them to my campaign.
DeleteHi, I was planning on running this for my players, but I can't seem to figure out what the stats of the crone snail are supposed to be like. Does she just use the same statblock you use for your vampires?
ReplyDeleteI've never put out stats for the crone snail, she came out after the bestiaries. You could use the vampire stats, sure; she's just a vampire whose current body happens to be a giant snail, hah.
DeleteWow! that was a really quick response lol. Thank you! I love your work.
